Partly Infrastructure

Building blocks for the auto parts industry

Partly builds parts infrastructure that makes it easy for repairers to find the right parts. We achieve this by partnering with OEMs to standardise their data.

Explore how Partly Infrastructure powers a Parts Procurement Platform.

What is Partly Infrastructure?

Partly Infrastructure provides the building blocks needed to make it easy for repairers to find the right parts.

Partly Infrastructure comprises interconnected components such as software, machine learning algorithms, databases, and research. These elements work together to solve the challenge of efficiently identifying the right parts at scale.

How Partly makes it easy for repairers to buy the right parts

Sourcing OEM and vehicle data

Partly partners with vehicle manufacturers to securely license access to their proprietary OEM data and sources regional vehicle data from government databases and third-party providers.

We strictly adhere to the OEM's terms and security compliance for data usage.

OEM Data Standardisation

Partly hires rigorously vetted parts interpreters and collision repairers who manually research and establish rules, guidelines, and a consistent nomenclature for the approximately 35,000 parts types. They collaborate through Partly's OpenBase forum to align on these conventions.

We then use our OEM Standardisation Software (O2T) and AI & machine learning algorithms (PartType AI) to efficiently convert raw OEM data into the Partly OEM Data standard at scale.

Data Quality Assurance

Partly has a dedicated quality assurance (QA) team that reviews output data to ensure accuracy and integrity. They continuously refine the machine learning models through an iterative process. Central to this workflow is our tool, InterAnnotator, which helps assess agreement and consistency among team members.

How Partly makes it easy for repairers to buy for the repair job

Jobs framework

Repairers are not just shopping for parts; they’re looking to complete a job. For example, a front-end collision repair requires a set of related parts like a bumper, a bonnet, sensors, fixings, and more.

Partly Infrastructure is designed around this repair-centric workflow. For the Parts Procurement Platform, the process begins by capturing vehicle information, either by license plate or VIN and trim, followed by details like job number, claim number, and date.

This jobs framework also applies to service, mechanical, and performance parts.

Collision Mapping

To represent how collision repairers approach a job, Partly has developed Human Centric Assemblies (HCAs), which are relevant product groupings. For example, a front bumper assembly includes the bumper cover, beam, absorber, harness, brackets, and more.

Repairers start by selecting collision region and severity, which surfaces relevant HCAs for different vehicle body types.

Parts Recommendation

Based on the HCAs selected, Partly’s recommendation algorithm, Interpreter AI, suggests the right parts for the job using standardised OEM data and historical repair data.

Continuous use of the platform further refines the recommendation algorithm, enhancing its accuracy and reliability.

Repairers can also choose to select parts for their job by searching or browsing for relevant parts.

Supplier selection

Supplier onboarding

To enable real-time purchasing, Partly connects OEM part numbers to suppliers' inventory, linking their prices and stock levels. This can be done through FTP, API integrations, CSV uploads, or manually via the PIM's intuitive user interface. Once connected, suppliers can view and manage their parts inventory directly within the PIM.

Supplier data control

Suppliers have full control over who can view their data. They can set pricing, shipping and rebate rules for different repairers within their network.

Green parts onboarding

To integrate green parts into the platform, we've developed the Fundamental Assemblies framework, representing how vehicle recyclers (dismantlers) disassemble vehicles and break down part assemblies.

We’ve also built dedicated software to effectively onboard dismantler’s inventory.

Partly Vehicle Definition Standard

In situations where OEM data is unavailable, Partly can create manufacturer catalogues using Partly’s Vehicle Definition Standard. This is particularly useful when a manufacturer is discontinued, but there are still vehicles on the road that require ongoing service and replacement parts.

Partly achieves this through the Vehicle Mapper and the PIM, matching inventory to vehicle definitions and additional base vehicle properties, known as custom restrictions.

This process is referred to as Tier 2 fitment. While it is less accurate than the Tier 1 OEM data standard, it is comparable to external industry data formats, making it especially relevant for service and mechanical parts.

Why Partly Infrastructure

Open & Collaborative

Our Infrastructure solution is open and collaborative, avoiding the limitations of an end-to-end solution that locks customers into a single way of operating. Instead, customers can adapt, build, and innovate on top of our core infrastructure, leveraging our integrations to create tailored solutions that meet their unique needs.

Serving as a foundation, our Infrastructure solution is modular, allowing Partly, partners, or customers to build upon it to address additional use cases. This modularity enables handling regionalisation, accommodating variations in car parcs, and making at-the-port changes to meet local standards, such as specific exhaust regulation requirements.

Modern Technology

Powered by modern technology, our cloud-based Infrastructure solution ensures fast and efficient performance. It is highly scalable, capable of seamlessly handling large volumes of data. This robust, cutting-edge infrastructure provides the reliability and flexibility needed to support your evolving business requirements.
